Grey Shadow Houndstooth Blazer

Last week, a gentleman visited Juan’s Tailor with a request that sounded simple, yet gave us much to consider: “I need a blazer with a point of interest, but not loud. Polished enough for client meetings, yet up close… it should show character.” From that brief, this micro houndstooth blazer was created.

Houndstooth is a classic pattern, but in this version, it is refined into a micro scale—tiny checks so small they form an exceptionally fine and sharp surface. From a distance, it appears calm, clean, and understated. But up close, the fabric begins to “move,” revealing a unique depth that only the attentive eye can truly appreciate.

A finely woven wool with moderate weight is selected to ensure the blazer holds its shape while remaining comfortable in motion. The shoulders are kept natural with a gentle structure; the sleeves are streamlined, and the body drapes softly along the wearer’s form. The result is a blazer that does not try to stand out, yet draws attention through its precision and restraint.
